the band apart (naked)とバンド名に若干の変更を加え本格的にアコースティックバンドセットとしてthe band apartが初の音源をリリースする。 この数年、アコースティック編成によるライブ出演が、イベントの性質(New Acoustic CampやMONSTER BuSHへのアコースティック出演等)に合わせることにより増加し、リスナーの間でも音源化が望まれる声が聞こえ始める。 そしてバンド自身がアコーステック編成によるライブへの意欲が高まる状況も相まり、必然的にアコースティックアルバムの制作という流れになった。 今作はアレンジを2つのコンセプトに分けエレクトリックの演奏を極力踏襲し、アコーステック録音をする楽曲(楽曲名の後ろに(Acoustic)表記)と、 大幅にアレンジを加え、全く新しいアプローチで既存曲をアコースティックバージョンに録り直すコンセプト(“2″の表記がつくもの)とのアレンジに分かれている。 higherやEric.W、夜の向こうへといったライブの定番曲も収録した新しいリスナーにはベスト盤でもあり、既存のファンにはニューアルバムのような印象も与える全く新しいアルバムとなった。 エレクトリックのセットでは味わえない、アレンジやメロディラインの妙など、the band apartの新しい魅力を発見できる一枚となっている。
